About this surface
No public per-well formation tops exist for the basin, so the structure shown is the Vaca Muerta Inferior landing surface: subsea elevation of each horizontal's landing point (ground elevation − landing TVD), for wells navigated in unit U1 (T1–T2), plus U2 landings shifted −167 ft to the U1 datum (median offset from adjacent pairs). Thin-plate spline, ~820 ft cells, masked beyond 2.5 mi from control. control wells. Treat as a near-base-VM structure proxy; residual σ ≈ 72 ft.
All values converted to US oilfield units from the Secretaría's metric data (1 m = 3.281 ft; 1 m³ oil = 6.29 bbl; 1,000 m³ gas = 35.3 Mcf; 1 t sand = 2,205 lb). BOE = bbl + Mcf ÷ 6. Gas wells: first-year GOR > 17,000 scf/bbl. Production = Capítulo IV monthly; completions = Adjunto IV.
Decline & EUR (SPEE-style modified Arps): rates on producing months only (shut-ins excluded, last partial month dropped); fit starts at the end of the initial plateau (last month within the first 15 at ≥90% of peak); log-space weighted least squares; b free within 0.3–1.6 for wells under 60 months (0.05–2 beyond), or pinned at 1.2 (basin median, marked *) when history <12 months or fit R² < 0.4. Hyperbolic segment integrated in closed form, switching to a 6%/yr exponential terminal decline at the point where the hyperbolic decline falls to 6%/yr; 20-year well life; 3 bo/d · 30 Mcf/d cut-offs. EUR = cumulative to date + forecast. Stretched-exponential (SEPD) and Duong fits on the same window give the range. Confidence: high ≥24 mo & R² > 0.85 with b free; low <12 mo or R² < 0.4.
Drilling activity: Secretaría Res. 319/93 monthly "metros perforados" per block and company (latest reported month) and "pozos en perforación" per company. Argentina publishes no rig locations; symbols sit at the block centroid and rig-equivalents assume 7,500 m drilled per rig-month (a typical VM pad rig).
Fluid system is not reported to the Secretaría; the card infers it from average proppant concentration (sand ÷ water): < 1.6 lb/gal ≈ slickwater (basin median 1.3), 1.6–2.5 possibly hybrid, > 2.5 gel/hybrid. Treat as an indication only.
Pipelines come from your KMZ: the Secretaría's Res. 319/93 field-pipeline layer (34,467 segments: oil green, gas red, water blue, products purple; width by diameter, small-diameter lines appear as you zoom in) plus ENARGAS gas-transport trunks (heavy red, labelled) and high-voltage lines (grey dashed, separate toggle).
Faults are SEGEMAR's 1:250,000 geological-sheet fault traces (CC-BY): fractures with displacement mapped at surface — dense in the Andean fold belt and along the Dorsal de Huincul, sparse over the covered embayment where the VM development sits. Dashed = inferred/covered; ticks = thrust/reverse. They are not seismic-derived faults at Vaca Muerta level.
Midstream layer (header → Midstream): disposal wells are the Secretaría well master's Sumidero type with target formation, status and cumulative injected water from Capítulo IV; waterflood injectors are Inyección de Agua wells in effective injection; pipelines are the Res. 319/93 registry by product. Hubs, trunk corridors and the Andes zones are schematic, placed from the Project Andes pitch (Sep-2026) and the Vaca Muerta Water Report Rev. 4 (Sep-2026); capacity figures, the produced-water type curve (1,739 wells, 2021+), disposal-rate benchmarks and unit costs are quoted from those two documents, and every unit cost is an editable assumption because no public Vaca Muerta water cost stack exists.
Surface facilities are the Secretaría's Res. 319/93 puntos característicos (batteries, manifolds, plants, metering points, pumps, tanks — 8,600 points in the basin after dropping valves, scrapers and interconnections) plus the Res. 318/2010 register of treatment plants, gas plants, LACTs and loading racks, which also records what each plant receives from and delivers to. Positions and types are as filed by operators; capacities are not published. Facilities enter the midstream access logic: an own/partner treatment plant or LACT counts as crude takeaway, a gas plant or compressor as gas takeaway, a water-injection plant as disposal.
Project Andes (Midstream → Project Andes pathways): the three anchor pathways from Deep Blue Operating's board briefing of 12 Sep 2026 are rebuilt from the atlas — each hub is re-sited by a grid search inside the deck's hub block that minimises distance to the nearest crude trunk (oleoducto ≥ 10 in) and gas trunk (ENARGAS or gasoducto ≥ 16 in) plus a quarter-weight on stick-weighted gathering distance; deck distances are compared with the measured ones; dedicated-block volumes come from existing decline tails, conventional PDP and the stick plan at an editable pace; platform revenue uses editable tariffs; capex is a placeholder because the deck defers it. Claims in the deck are checked against the well and pipeline registries and marked where they differ.
Contours and the U1 surface beyond well control: within 4 km of a landing point the surface is the thin-plate spline fitted to the 1,668 U1/U2 landing elevations; from 4 to 12 km it blends into a heavily smoothed thin-plate trend of the same points, which is then carried to 45 km from control and clipped to the mapped Vaca Muerta footprint. Dashed contours are that trend — regional dip only, no local structure — and the gunbarrel/readout use the same surface (grey grid cells 0.02° there versus 0.005° in the core).
Political boundaries: Natural Earth 1:10m admin-1 provinces and the Argentina–Chile border (public domain), clipped to the map and simplified to ~400 m — orientation only, not cadastral.
Units follow the Secretaría's navigation-interval codes (Res. 319/93, González et al. 2016 ↔ Legarreta & Villar 2015): U1 = VM Inferior (T1–T2); U2 = VM Medio (T4–T5); U3 = VM Medio (B1); U4–U6 = VM Superior (B3–V4).
